User Interface

Common elements of the user interface you must understand before using eramba

Landing Dashboard

After logging into Eramba, and once data is available in the system, you will see a landing dashboard populated with charts from all modules, including compliance, risks, controls, policies, and more.

Administrators can customize this dashboard to display specific charts tailored to your needs. In total, Eramba offers over 200 charts, providing comprehensive visual insights across all areas of the platform.

Left Panel Modules

The left panel in Eramba is retractable, allowing you to maximize screen space. This panel contains modules such as Risk, Compliance, Policies, Controls, and others, making navigation simple and organized.

The logo at the top of the panel is customizable by the administrator and will also appear on any emails sent by Eramba, ensuring branding consistency.

In the top-right corner, you’ll find your user profile, where you can update your password and user settings. Next to your profile, the notification bar alerts you to upcoming deadlines, notifications, and other important updates, keeping you informed and on track.

Modules & Sub-Modules

Once you access a module, you may notice that it includes submodules. This structure exists because a parent item is often related to one or more child items. For instance, a policy, as the parent, can have one or more associated policy reviews as its child items.

You can access a parent’s child items in two ways: by navigating to the child module and searching for the parent or, more quickly, by clicking on the parent counter. This will open a popup window from the bottom, displaying all associated child items.

In some cases, the relationship between modules is not strictly parent and child. For example, internal controls may have relationships with policies. These relationships are visible in both modules, and you can use shortcuts to quickly access the linked items, ensuring efficient navigation.

Module Menu

All modules and their sub-modules are managed in the same way, so once you learn how to use one module, you’ll be able to manage any of them with ease.

You can add items individually or through CSV import files. To configure notifications, statuses, view module logs, access API documentation, and more, simply use the module configuration dropdown. For detailed guidance on these features, visit our documentation portal.

Views & Filters

Each module contains a large amount of data, much like a typical spreadsheet, which can be organized into views. For example, in the Policy module, you might have a view for expired policies or another for policies you own.

The system includes default views to help you get started, and data from any view can be exported as a CSV file at any time.

Over time, as you create multiple views, you can keep them organized by pinning the ones you use most frequently to the toolbar. You can rename and share them with other users in the system. Additionally, you can configure which views will be displayed by default to other users when they access the module, ensuring a streamlined experience for everyone.

Eramba ships with multiple views on every module to facilitate your initiation on the system. They cover common use cases such as a list of all items on the module.

You can create as many views as you need, either by duplicating existing ones or building new ones from scratch. When setting up views, you’ll also define permissions, specifying who can access and modify them.

Each view allows you to filter and sort data and rearrange columns as needed. Whenever you make changes to a view, the system will prompt you to save or discard those modifications, ensuring your views stay organized and up to date.

Filter Settings

In every view, you can control three key settings: filters, sorting, and columns.

Filters allow you to refine the data by applying specific conditions. For example, in the Policy module, you can filter for all policies where the title includes the word “Policy” and are owned by you. Since modules in Eramba are interconnected, you can also filter based on relationships. For instance, you can find all policies linked to a specific risk.

Sorting enables you to organize the filtered data by one or more columns, either in ascending or descending order. Columns can be displayed or hidden as needed to reduce the complexity of the table and focus on the most relevant information.

Item Menu

Items can be edited, deleted, and shared with other users as needed. If you’ve configured reports, you can access all reporting options directly from the item. Additionally, the activity log provides a detailed record of all changes and actions performed on the item, ensuring transparency and traceability.

You can select multiple items at once for bulk edits and deletions.
