Creating a Business Unit
How to create items in the module
Introduction
In this episode and the one that follows we will explain how Business Units and Processes are created and linked to each other.
Creating a Business Unit
To create a Business Unit click on “Actions” and then “Add”. We do not have an "Import" feature because most times there is no need to create more than 5-10 Business Units.
A form will appear. Most of the fields are named in a way that their use is obvious, but some might not be straightforward so we’ll cover them in more detail in this guide.
Owner
This is the responsible user or group (preferred choice) that represents this BU. For example: If you have interviewed the Finance department in order to identify Risks and feel they need a Business Unit, then a group called "Finance" is probably what you need to create. You can add one or two people from the Finance department to the group.
Liabilities
See the liabilities episode for detail. Most use cases do not require liabilities to be configured for Business Units.
